Google G1, BlackBerry Storm, Apple iPhone-- Which 1 should you buy??

These are the 3 touchscreen phone kingpins. Apple iPhone for AT&T, BlackBerry Storm 9530 for Verizon, and the Google G1 for T-Mobile. Its a tough decision for anyone out there looking for a touchscreen phone.

The G1 Features- The G1 is the least expensive of the 3, being $179 with a 2 year plan, while the BlackBerry Storm is $219 and the iPhone is $199 on a 2 year. Features? Well the G1 uses a new state of the art operating system called Android, giving you the best touch abilities to navigate through the phone by using finger-flicks, long holds, and firm presses. The Android system also gives you the ability to install a wide variety of applications ranging from YouTube, Google Maps with StreetView, Facebook, and Flickr. It automatically synchronizes Google desktop as well as use Yahoo and Microsoft's instant messaging services (AIM, MSN Messenger). Another great feature of the G1 is its accelerometer feature that contours to your every move. The screen adjusts to your every movement horizontally AND vertically. Say your on Google maps and your looking at a street, you can prospectively change the view of the street by moving the phone any which way, giving a 360 degree view of that street. Google used a physical keyboard for the G1 because of the numerous complaints about the iPhone's keyboard integrated in the screen. Users of the iPhone said they had a sense of "awkwardness" when trying to type.

The Negatives: has low battery life, using up half its battery power in 1 hour fully used. Has only 1GB of memory as opposed to the iPhone that starts at 3GB all the way up to 8GB. Some users have claimed their browsing experience was a bit slow, but the Android technology makes up for that. Non integrated keyboard.

Apple iPhone is the originator of the 3, boldly making its appearance around a year ago. There have been mixed reviews on the iPhone so far. Some people say its great having a phone and an iPod all in one, while some people don't like the awkwardness of the integrated keyboard in the screen, the browser is too slow, doesn't have enough memory...I'm sure Apple heard it all.

Features-Now with the the most recently updated 3GB iPhone (also available at 8GB), the reviews seem to be getting more positive. The iPhone is more appealing to the eye then the other 2, with very high ratings on the usage of its front interface, making it clear, easy, and most importantly fun to navigate. But as good as Apple's interface is, its still 2nd compared to the BlackBerry Storm (will get to that later). Syncing the iPhone to your computer is a breeze, getting music, video, movies.. etc, making it the crown holder in the media department. Another place where it holds the crown is in the applications department, letting you choose from a HUGE variety of professionally made games and play them as if you were on a gaming console.

The Negatives: Not enough memory to store basically anything, even though Apple just recently updated it with a 3GB and 8GB choice. Difficult to handle, the phone itself is big and gets very slippery (HIGHLY ceceptable to fingerprints). Can only use Apple headphones, other ones will not fit. A bit pricey ($199), even though Apple dropped the price by $200 just recently, before that it was $399 with 2 year deal. Call quality is bad, drops a lot of calls and doesn't get good reception. Losing information already on screen when receiving a call. Slow data network, making web browsing a struggle.

The newest of the 3, the BlackBerry Storm 9530, is already getting tremendous over all reviews, and it hasn't even come out yet! The BlackBerry Storm is set to come out late November, early December right before the holidays. The price is set to be at $219 with a 2 year contract, $289 with a 1 year, and a ghastly $519 full-retail price.

Features- The first, and most impressive feature of all, is that it will have what BlackBerry calls its SurePress touch screen that actually gives way when you start typing, creating an easier non-awkward typing experience which is the iPhone's main problem. Another great feature the BlackBerry Storm has as opposed to the iPhone and the G1, is its familiar BlackBerry phone buttons(Send,End,Menu,Back) at the bottom, making it convenient switching over to a call without losing information already on screen. As i mentioned above, the iPhone is 2nd in the eye-catcher department to the BlackBerry Storm because the Storm features a never before seen high resolution 480x360 pixel screen displaying over 65,000 colors. While teaming up with the highly regarded largest service provider in the world, Verizon Wireless, the web browsing and e-mail access is outstanding, making you feel that your connected to a high-speed modem. Other features include a 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus and flash, where after you take a picture or video, it automatically accesses your e-mail so you can send videos and pictures to your family and friends. Long lasting battery life with extra battery included enabling you to swap if you forget the charger. High-Speed navigation access. Cut, copy, and paste technology while browsing. Built in wireless modem so you can connect your laptop anywhere you want.

The Negatives: to expand memory, you need to buy different memory sticks according to how GB space you want. You have to use Verizon's VCast feature to access your media, making it not as convenient and easy like the iPhone.

RUMORED Macbook Touch!

Are these Apple's lastest items on boosting their sales even more? Or just a mockup of a "work in progress" design. This is the all new MacBook Touch. Typing sure won't be easy on that thing and i'm assuming it will have touch mouse cursor like the iPhone. Rumors have it that it will be out in the US in Summer 2009 ROUGHLY. No price has been determined yet. Rumored features are interactive music programs (piano top left), built in Wi-Fi, automatic screen rotation, 13 inch display, will be portable but will come with a stand, keyboard, and mouse. I ALSO heard a rumor that it might have a phone integrated in it with BlueTooth technology, even though that seems a bit out there. What do you think????

The NEW BLACKBERRY STORM- iPhone killer.

We all heard about it. Most of us have probably seen the teaser commercial about it. Now Blackberry is FINALLY giving the public a first hand look at their hottest, sleekest, most unbelievable phone yet, the Blackberry Storm 9500. The Storm is just like a regular Blackberry...but with a 3.2 inch TOUCHSCREEN.

Ohhh yes, if you thought the old Blackberrys were good JUST WAIT until this sucker comes out. Its scheduled to debut in late November, early December right before the holidays on 2 networks, 1. Verizon Wireless, 2. Vodaphone Group PLC which is an overseas company. Verizon's price for the Storm has rumored to be around $199, not bad.

The Blackberry Storm is expected to BLOWOUT sales upon debut, leaving the iPhone in the dust (AT&T service is a joke anyway). Also there have been complaints about the iPhone being "awkward to the touch" because the glass screen's virtual buttons don't give specific tangible feedback to your finger, making the Storm's designer, RIM (Research in Motion) create an ingenius screen that gives upon your touch.

However, you won't have the same ability to play music and movies like you can on the iPhone, but those features will be available through Verizon Wireless' VCast service. But, just for the sake of browsing it destroysss the iPhone, making your finger the actual mouse with the screen distinguishing between light touches and firm presses. A light touch will move your cursor around while a firm press will activate a link.

Other features include a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, automatic screen rotation, 128MB of RAM and 1GB integrated storage, which can be further expanded up to 16GB. The phone will use HSPA for fast, reliable data access but with no sign of Wi-Fi. The Storm will also have CUT, COPY AND PASTE abilities! A feature the iPhone doesnt have.
